Becoming Legal

Ok sports fans, we’re going to start this entry off with a little pictoral quiz. You can use the title as sort of a clue. Here is the question. “What is wrong with this picture?”

Figure it out yet??? Go ahead take your time…….. (yes that is my car.) Give up? OK I’ll give you the answer.

Thats right kids, I’m now a legal North Carolina Driver. I went into the license office yesterday and got my driver’s license which took all of an hour, well it would have took only an hour…… I don’t have a bank here in North Carolina yet. I’m still using my US Bank accounts from home, and there isn’t a branch any where near here, Apparently the license office only takes cash or a NC state based check. Neither of which I had. I know what your thinking….. just go hit up an atm, grab some cash and quit whining. Problem. US Bank sent me a new card but not a pin. I called over a month ago for them to send me a new pin which they haven’t, so I can’t get cash with out the pin. Anyway, So I run back to the apt in attempts to find the older card that the pin works with which i did and I also had Don sign a check for me in case it wouldn’t work. The old card worked so I got the cash went back and got my card.

From there I went to the license plate office because you walk away from the driver’s license office with my card. I got there and of course the powers that be in Raleigh figured right about noon on the Friday of a holiday weekend would be a good time to mess around with the computer systems. So in the middle of getting my plate the computers go down. There is already a long line waiting so the gals there start calling trying to figure out how long it will be and of course no one knows. So I go do my computer tests for work and come back and walk to in and insane length line. The lady I had been working with spots me walking in, waves me over and hands me my plate and says have a good weekend. Luckily for me I had paid and all that jazz before the computers went down! The weird thing is you only get one plate, you don’t have to have one in front! So my poor little car looks kind of nekked with out the front plate. We took the plastic holder off the front end so I didn’t just have an empty plate holder on the front, so now I just have a big screw hole in the front.

I started work this last week with the two long days of corperate orientation, we all know how those go. I was on the floor on Friday and let me say I am the tame one!!! I know those I worked with on 6MB may never believe it but it’s true. I was worrying about having to behave myself and it is not going to be a problem at all! It seemed like a fun group of people so we’ll see how the rest of the crew is. I’m not on the floor again until Wednesday, so of course I’ll forgotten everything I learned this week.
